What Staff Are Saying about Vernon ISD

I love working at the middle school because of the great colleagues I have here. They are supportive and always willing to help when needed. I have been able to flourish as a teacher due to having such a wonderful support system in my fellow teachers.

Christina Mathes

   6th Grade Teacher

I'm new to Vernon ISD and very happy to be here! I'm thankful to be around the wonderful combination of outstanding teachers and kind students. My own children are enrolled here and have benefited greatly from being held to a very high standard in both academics and athletics. I'm looking forward to many more years as a Lion!

Kassidy Sherrill

   High School Science Teacher

I love working at VISD because I am privileged to be a part of someone’s life story, the story of who they are and how they come to be their future self. It is pure joy to see a child become even more of the person they are meant to be. People always say, "Those kids are lucky to have you," but I’m the lucky one. Working with students day in and day out, year after year, I get to meet and become a large part of their lives. I get to be a part of molding them into young adults and helping them prepare for the world. I care for them, challenge them, and encourage them as if they were my own.
