It took every point of her 4.876 GPA for Sai Shrya Ale to be named the Valedictorian for the Vernon High School Class of 2023, with just six one-hundredths of a point separated Sai from the salutatorian.
The 152 members of the VHS Class of 2023 will graduate during commencement exercises at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 27, at Leo Brittain Field at Lion Stadium.
Sai is the daughter of Srinivasula Ale and Sandhya Ale, and has a brother, Venkata Ale. During her high school career, she played tennis and was a member of the Student Council, National Honor Society, Roarin’ Lion Band, and Key Club. She also participated in Academic UIL competition.
Honors and awards received during her four years at VHS include: Faculty Choice Award in Mathematics; A Honor Roll; Vernon College Honor List; and VHS Student of the Month. Sai earned a Business Office Technology Certification, and also received Academic Excellence honors in Pre-AP Algebra 2 and Pre-AP English 2.
Sai plans to attend Texas A&M University in College Station to study Management Information Systems.
