Cynthia Jackson

October is Principal Appreciation Month, and Vernon ISD is spotlighting all six of the principals in our district.

This school year marks the 25th of Cynthia Jackson's career in education, and her 7th in the role of school administrator. She served as an assistant principal with Paris ISD for 5 years, and was the principal at Clarksville middle high school last year.

Jackson accepted the position as Vernon High School principal in May. She knew when she was 4 years old that she wanted to be a teacher and that career choice never changed. She decided to be a SPED (Special Education) teacher when she saw her brother struggling so much to learn, and new she wanted to help others like him.

Jackson's favorite thing about being a principal is the opportunity to make a difference and improve the educational experience for both students and staff.

Her personal motto and believe: "Everyone can learn."
