There was sweetness overload at VHS earlier this week, as the advanced culinary students in Mrs. Hasting's class closed out their baking unit by learning to bake and decorate 3 layer cakes. Each of the student groups chose their design and recipe. The flavors included vanilla, chocolate, chocolate raspberry, matcha, butter pecan, peanut butter, and lemon blueberry. Several hours of hard work were put in by each group, and all of the cakes turned out beautifully!! Almost, too beautiful to eat.

Our Roarin' Lion Band earned a SUPERIOR (Division I) rating in Concert, and an EXCELLENT (Division II) rating in Sight Reading. In Sight Reading two judges gave the band a Division II rating, while one judge gave the band a Division I. The band was one judge away from earning Division I in both Concert & Sight Reading, which would have given them a Sweepstakes Award. CONGRATULATIONS to all of our Roarin' Lion Band members and directors. Great job!! We're super proud of you!!

Israel advanced to the State Wrestling Tournament where he finished eighth in his weight class.
