Last year our health occupations program won the Our Blood Institute Blood Drive Championship and received a $1,250 scholarship. VHS is sponsoring the first blood drive of the 2025-26 school year on Tuesday, Oct. 14. The blood drive will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., in the PE Gym. You can schedule your donation by scanning the QR code or calling the number on the flyer. Our Blood Institute provides blood to all area hospitals. Please consider giving a gift that costs you nothing, but can save a life!

Our Lions and Lady Lions cross country teams ran at the District 7-3A meet Monday in Burkburnett. Almost every one of our runners set a new personal best at the meet, however this is a tough district and we were unable to get anyone out to regionals. Coach Robinson said the future is bright for the cross country team and was very proud of these athletes and their efforts this season. We apologize for not being able to get any photos of our Lady Lions in action at the district meet.

Last week, students in Mrs. Hanson's Anatomy & Physiology classes wrapped up their project on human organs by giving presentations in class. The students had to research an organ of their choice, create a powerpoint and essay using their research, as well as make a model of the organ.

Yesterday the Homecoming Lion Spirit Day dress up theme was "BBQ Dads and Soccer Moms," and it appears we definitely have more barbecuing dads than soccer moms.
